Trending; Business Professional

So, for the first time in a very long time, I started a temp job where I have to dress business professional. I am not someone who likes to wear suits, so I had to figure out the best way possible to adhere to the dress code, while maintaining my personal style. Needless to say, I did enjoy getting dressed every morning this week and it was very interesting to see how I was the only person in the office wearing any color. As far as I am concerned, they definitely need someone with my style and personality. I'm a breath of fresh air!!

Trending; LBD

No matter what time of year it is a little black dress is always in style. I, like most girls I'm sure, have a plethora of options in that department, or, at the very least, every girl should have an automatic go to LBD that she can throw on in a moments notice. However, with each new season, I like to find the most novel interpretation on the classic look and I found just that, when I stumbled upon this stunningly chic, LBD by Katie Ermilio. This jaw dropping dress is not only gorgeous, but it is two dresses in one, as the A-line draping overlay is removable, forming a figure flattering silhouette. Now, at close to $1,600, this dress is more of a lust item for most, but if nothing else, let it encourage you to think outside of the box when shopping for your next little black dress.

Accessory Alert; Floppy Sun Hats

What would this Spring/Summer be like without floppy sun hats? While I was in Manhattan the other day, caught in the rain without an umbrella or jacket, I sought shelter underneath the GAP stores doorway. I was soaked to the max and decided to go in and check out what they had. As a rule, I am not a huge fan of GAP's clothing, but I decided to check out there accessories collection. Much to my surprise, I found the most adorable and chic floppy sun hat. I tried it on, walked around the store in it for a bit, and knew that I had to have it. I felt so tropical and chic in it, and best of all, the price was right at $34.50. I got it in a black and cream stripe, which is on trend and a classic style that I can wear season after season. I felt so Pretty Woman in it!!

Lust Item of the Week

With all of this rain we have been having I couldn't help but think about trench coats. In particular, I am enamored of this mid-length, color piping detail trench by Burberry. This is a timeless piece that you can always have, wear, and be in style. What I love most about this particular style is the orange piping detail. It adds a great pop of color and gives this classic look an updated twist. What's not to love!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day is upon us again and the painstaking question of what to get the most important woman in your life is never easy. Right now, I'm on a budget, so I have to be creative without breaking the bank. Alas, I opted to get my lovely mother a fragrance. The price is right and at least it is something where she can think of me whenever she wears it. After much research, I chose to get her,  Miss Dior Eau Fraiche, a new fragrance for Spring 2012. I know she will love it. Happy Mother's Day!

Trending; Rainboots

I simply can't help but be inspired by all of this rainfall that we have been having. So, I felt it best to talk about my favorite piece of rainfall apparel; rain boots, or my preferred name for them, wellies. At times, rain gear in general can be deemed as boring and depressing, and something that is worn only under duress. However, I get excited at every opportunity to wear rain boots, especially since companies are doing so much to make them more fashion forward and edgy. Currently, I have two pairs, a black pair by Hunter, and a Burberry pair, in there iconic plaid print. Right now, rain boots come in so many fun colors, prints, and styles, that they have become a year round staple, even looking great worn with shorts or mini dresses. They are becoming such a highly coveted trend, that they are even worn to music festivals such as Coachella and V-Festival, where I happily wore mine last summer. I am definitely looking into getting a pair in a bright spring/summer color, like orange, or neon pink and you should consider doing the same.

Right now I am loving the clothing line, Wildfox! This multi-dimensional collection will definitely bring out the fox in all of us. This brand exudes a vintage feel, coupled with a hipster chic vibe, that is effortless and carefree. In addition, they created different collections within their brand at various price points, making their clothing accessible for everyone to purchase. Wildfox even has children's, jewelry, accessory, and swimwear collections that are a must see!! Check out their website at www.wildfoxcouture.com  and follow their blog at www.ilovewoldfox.com Is there a Wildfox in you?

Weekend Round-Up

I always like to think optimistically and begin my weekends on a Friday. While that may not always seem like a good idea, since most have to work, it can at least put you in a good frame of mind for the upcoming weekend. So, to begin my weekend, I went out to East Hampton on Friday afternoon for a meeting. I had to look professional but I wanted to keep things youthful and fun. Alas, this is the outfit that I came up with! I definitely knew I looked just the way I wanted when I walked out the door.

This Saturday and Sunday was spent driving, packing, and picking up my brother from Penn State University. Not the most exciting excursion considering its a four hour drive in each direction, but I definitely felt the need to exude a cool and comfortable look, without being completely overdressed for a college campus. Furthermore,  let's face it, most college students wear sweat pants 24/7, which I do not condone, but to each his own. Regardless, I definitely succeeded in achieving the look of my choice.

Lust Item of the Week...

Balenciaga Kraft Polka Dots Tote

I am obsessed with this bag. It is truly amazing and absolutely stunning.  Balenciaga did a fantastic job with this reinterpretation of polka dots, by actually using a laser perforation technique, to give the feel of polka dots with a see through effect. The strap is removable adding to the value and versatility of this great piece. Rest assured many of the celebrities will be scooping up this accessory. I wish it was part of my wardrobe, it completes any outfit perfectly.

Brooklyn Winery

Brooklyn Winery

I went to the Brooklyn Winery last night with some friends and it is absolutely amazing!! With extremely dim lighting, it creates a very mellow, laid back ambience, fit for a late night outing. Located at 213 N. 8th Street, in the up and coming Williamsburg, Brooklyn, it is definitely worth checking out. It has a great hipster chic vibe and an awesome outdoor seating area, which will be ideal as the spring temperatures warm up. I will definitely be visiting the Brooklyn Winery again!
