Saturday was my birthday and I just wanted to be fun, flirty, and whimsical. I decided on a maxi dress. I got this amazing dress from J.Crew and it's been sitting in my closet for a while, so I figured that my birthday would be a perfect time to wear it. I accessorized the trend with a braided belt, my Toms to keep it casual, and a brightly colored cardigan because I'm always cold. The print on this dress is amazing helping to make it much more than just an ordinary maxi dress. Definitely try this trend and give it some edge by choosing a maxi dress in a funky print.

Trending the iPhone & Accessories

Well, it was only a matter of time before I had to make the transition from the blackberry to the iPhone. Likewise, I realized that I didn't have much of a choice when I went into the Verizon store and the sales rep essentially refused to sell me the blackberry bold. Needless to say I didn't need much cajoling, but more or less an excuse to make the transition. Besides being obsessed with my new gadget, I realized that I had to get a new phone case. I'm someone who is prone to dropping my phone so I knew that I wanted a fully closed case. Much like my blackberry case, which I got from Michael Kors, I knew that they would have something that I'd love. Sure enough, I found the most adorable iPhone wristlet which is also great for carrying cards and cash on a night out. With that being said, I couldn't leave with just one thing. I also got an amazing Michael Kors tortoise statement ring. Right now I'm one happy girl!!!

Sadly, I have been missing in action working in corporate America and haven't been able to keep up with my blog posts due to my long hours. Anyhow, I mellowed out over the weekend and spent Sunday with my friend in Williamsburg Brooklyn. We had a great time checking out the consignment shops, flea markets, cute restaurants, and taking in the NYC skyline from across the river. While exploring I found this great shop, Crossroads, where you can buy, trade, sell, and consign. I fell in love with the shop and couldn't leave empty handed. I found this amazing chartreuse, silk, Haute Hippie dress for an amazing price. I was ecstatic!!!

My second week in corporate America has finally concluded and I am still expected to dress business professional with Friday's as our dress down day. For me, getting dressed in the morning is the most exciting part of my day, especially since I never pictured myself in world of finance. I'm not sure how long this position will last, since it's temporary, however, in the mean time I'm enjoying dressing up and it gives me a great excuse to go shopping.

So, for the first time in a very long time, I started a temp job where I have to dress business professional. I am not someone who likes to wear suits, so I had to figure out the best way possible to adhere to the dress code, while maintaining my personal style. Needless to say, I did enjoy getting dressed every morning this week and it was very interesting to see how I was the only person in the office wearing any color. As far as I am concerned, they definitely need someone with my style and personality. I'm a breath of fresh air!!

I, like most girls I'm sure, have a plethora of options in that department, or, at the very least, every girl should have an automatic go to LBD that she can throw on in a moments notice.
